It is the responsibility of the player to:

  • Demonstrate self-control and respect for their coaches, officials, and spectators at all times.
  • Remember that participation in sports should not be abused by unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Respect the other team and shake hands after the competition and congratulate them on their performance.
  • Respect the integrity and judgment of the officials.
  • Remember that behavior while in uniform reflects on the team, the family, and the community.
  • No showboating allowed.
  • Understand and abide by the rules.
  • Accept winning and losing with grace and dignity.
  • JUST SAY NO to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.
  • Treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, gender, sexual preference, or ability.
  • There will be no intimidation, hazing and/or fighting

I also understand that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Verbal warning by official, head coach, and/or head of league organization
  • Written warning
  • Player game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by organizations involved
  • Game forfeit through the official or coach Player season suspension

Milford Youth Lacrosse - Parent's Code of Conduct

Milford Youth Lacrosse (MYL) seeks to instill positive character-building traits in our communities’ youth through the demonstration of good sportsmanship, respect for others, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. We ask that parents and their guests attending MYL Events help us by reflecting these character traits at games. When attending MYL Events:

  • I will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.
  • I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing, taunting or using profane language or gestures, etc.
  • I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of the athletes. • I will teach my child to play by the spirit of the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
  • I will ensure that my child treats other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, sex, or ability.
  • I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  • I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches or referees at the game field, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place.
  • I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.
  • I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.
  • I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:

Brain Injury / Concussion Risk Management Plan

If your child/ward sustains a blow to his/her head or any other injury during the season, whether during a Milford Youth Lacrosse or Member Town Program event outside of this program, you must report it to the coach.  If your child seeks medical attention for any injury, including a concussion, you must get a medical clearance form from and MD or DO stating that your child/ward has been cleared for full activity and you must present this to your child’s/ward’s coach prior to return to participation.

Bullying / Cyber Bullying Policy

Bullying / Cyber Bullying Policy

The MYL Board strives to provide a safe, positive climate for the players. Therefore, the Board will maintain an environment in which bullying and cyber/electronic bullying of any type will not be tolerated. Bullying will be defined as, but not limited to, the following: An intentional act of an unwelcome verbal, written, or physical conduct by a player which is directed toward another player that has the effect of the following: physically, emotionally, or mentally harming a player. Creating a hostile or intimidating environment that interferes with the player development. Cyber bullying includes, but is not limited to, the following: use of technology, by the way of electronic tools such as (but not limited to) email, text, instant messaging, blogs, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, or any other social / electronic media which results in the effect of bullying as defined above. Any incidents of bullying or cyber bullying should be reported to the head coach immediately. The Bullying / Cyber Bullying Policy will be enforced both on and off the field, from the start to the end of the season, including any MYL event that takes place during the off season, or if the subject of the transmission includes lacrosse related topics. Any such event of bullying or cyber bullying will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the MYL Board of Directors and Officers in private/executive session. This is a zero tolerance policy and any parent or player, or cheerleader who violates the policy will be penalized. Such penalty will include: warning, suspension, or exclusion from the program without refund.

 You understand that while on the turf field at Milford High School, the following items are not permitted:

  • Any drink besides water (no coffee, sports drinks, etc.)
  • Dogs, Pets or animals
  • Peanuts, seeds, chewing gum or food of any sort
  • Glass containers or bottles
  • Tobacco, drugs or alcohol
  • Skateboards, scooters, bike or anything with wheels
  • Chairs or Tables
  • You also understand that you’ll only park in designated spaces and that the school is not responsible for any items lost or stolen. If parents break these rules it could result in a fine or jeopardize Milford Youth Lacrosse from using the field in the future.

There is zero tolerance for anyone on the turf for breaking these rules.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy

The $45.00 Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse Player Membership is non-refundable. If you have questions, please contact Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse directly.

If a player withdraws from the Milford Youth Lacrosse program a $50 processing fee will be assessed to all drops. After the second week of practice 75% of the registration fee will be returned. Anyone who drops after the 2nd week of practice before the 1st game, will receive 50% refund. No refunds thereafter. All refund requests must be made in writing (e-mail is acceptable) and delivered to your child’s coach and cc to registrar@milfordmayouthlacrosse.com.
